On Australia Day 1988 we dragged this FJ Ute out of the blackberries and brought it home to commence our “Bicentennial Project”. There were no floors and the doors and guards were totally rusted out.

We lost the bonnet the first day

December 1988 we headed to our 1st Nationals at Cleveland, Qld, with 2 young children. We lost the bonnet the first day after getting off the ferry from Tas. We put it in the back and continued on and enjoyed a great Nationals. In 1990 we attended the Nationals at Bacchus Marsh and were presented with Grand Champion Modified. This made all the hard work worthwhile. Only normal maintenance has been done since and we just drove and enjoyed our vehicle, attending many Nationals since. We are currently having a total respray done, the first in 30 years, and hope to have it finished in time to bring to these Nationals.
